Dear Colorado Water Trust Community,
I am thrilled to share that Colorado Water Trust’s Board of Directors has unanimously approved the appointment of Kate Ryan as our new Executive Director, effective immediately.
With significant consideration given to the unique set of skills, experience, and expertise needed to successfully lead the Water Trust, the board agrees that Kate meets all the requirements and more. We are confident that under Kate’s leadership, the organization’s success in restoring water to Colorado’s rivers will continue to flourish and grow.
Kate Ryan joined the Water Trust team as Staff Attorney in late 2018 and became Director of Programs in 2022. Read her full bio here.
“I feel beyond fortunate to take on leadership of the Water Trust’s committed staff with the support of our dedicated board”, said Kate. “When I started working as a water lawyer in 2006, I was inspired to see the Water Trust kicking off some of its first projects on the Blue River and Hermosa Creek. Today, we’re collaborating with water users all across Colorado and restoring thousands of acre-feet to our rivers each year. We are approaching new milestones for the Water Trust and the water community that supports us, and I am so proud just to be a part of it.”
